Breath in the Body: A Gentle Yoga Session

  • Hutchins Education Center 112 Perkins Street Castine, ME 04421 United States (map)

Rescheduled from March 23

Rebecca Mason

Registered Yoga Teacher and Pelvic Health Physical Therapist

Our breath can be more than just the movement of air. Get the most out of your breath with Registered Yoga Teacher Rebecca (Becca) Mason as she guides us through gentle postures to feel different sensations of breathing. This program will include a 15-minute introduction about the importance of breath with a 30-minute gentle yoga session. A few yoga mats will be available, but attendees are encouraged to bring a mat or a blanket and a water bottle. Adults and children six years of age and older are welcome. Admission is $10 per adult, free for children. Register in advance or pay at the door.

About the Instructor

Becca has been practicing and learning yoga styles for over 10 years with nearly 400 hours of various trainings. She completed her first yoga teacher training in Baptiste Power Vinyasa and most recently in the LYT Method. She earned her doctorate in physical therapy from West Virginia University and has completed advanced trainings to treat conditions in the pelvic region. Her approach emphasizes structural and anatomy-based alignment to empower you to build balance and smarter functional movement on & off the mat. Becca believes her most important role as a teacher and therapist is to create opportunities for her students and patients to enhance their brain-body connection and learn the 'why' behind specific movements. She invites play and curiosity, not perfection, to every class.

This program is part of the Wilson Museum’s program series Connecting to Collections: Curiosity, Culture, Climate made possible through the generous support of Bangor Savings Bank.
