Facilities Manager
The Wilson Museum is hiring a Facilities Manager. This position will have primary oversight of the care, upkeep, maintenance, and capital improvements for the Wilson Museum’s nine buildings and 5-acre campus, including three historic structures.
Compensation: $25/hour, part-time (approximately 24 hours/week), with paid holidays, health & wellness days, and eligibility for retirement plan.

CURIOSITY GUIDES
The Wilson Museum is looking to hire a small team of Curiosity Guides for our summer season. Curiosity Guides welcome and engage visitors of all ages, oversee exhibits, conduct sales in our museum store, lead scripted tours of our historic Perkins House, and facilitate hands-on learning experiences for visitors.
Compensation: Starting at $18/hour and increasing based on experience and responsibilities.
Dates: This seasonal part-time position is active May 27 to September 30 with flexible start and end dates.

Blacksmiths
The Wilson Museum is looking to hire blacksmiths for our Hands-On History Days this summer. On these days, a variety of engaging interactives are offered for visitors of all ages, including blacksmithing. Blacksmiths will operate a coal forge, welcome visitors to the blacksmith shop, engage visitors in conversation, share their knowledge about blacksmithing, and guide visitors through the basics of blacksmithing.
Compensation: Starting at $20/hour and increasing based on experience.
Dates: Wednesday & Sunday afternoons in July & August

Patricia L. Hutchins Endowed Internship
The Wilson Museum in Castine, Maine is seeking an intern for the summer of 2025. Located on the shores of Penobscot Bay, the Wilson Museum is an eclectic small museum with collections, exhibits, and programs that range from geology to local history, European prehistory to living history, cultures in North America and around the world, and more. This internship is intended for upper-level undergraduate students and graduate students and will be project-focused. The museum will work with the intern to identify a project that meets both the strategic goals of the museum and the student’s interests and academic requirements.
Compensation: $2,500 stipend, housing provided
Dates: Flexible, generally June-August
