A Spiral of Cycles connects us to the natural world – from our heartbeat to the seasons and beyond. Celebrate this Summer Solstice as we explore some of these connections with Krista Hastings of Yoga DownEast and Ananda Luna DownEast. Expect some gentle movement which can be done in a chair, as well as a brief guided meditation.
Krista moved from New Jersey to Maine in 2000 to live a life more connected to the seasons and nature. Yoga has been a perfect complement to her life as she practices being present with what is. She opened Yoga DownEast in Orland in 2017 with a focus on honoring Nature's cycles – especially the New and Full Moon, the Solstices, and Equinoxes. In 2021, she opened Ananda Luna DownEast – a take-out café featuring healthy, plant-based smoothies, soups, teas, and a "curiosity" shop – with the goal of creating community while nourishing Body, Mind, and Spirit. Krista is especially grateful for the support and guidance of her teachers – including all the students who make the decision to show up on the mat.
