Gardening As We Age

Gardeners are a hardy bunch. Data reveals that they live longer! They’re also healthier and happier than non-gardeners. Fresh air, sunshine, and lots of exercise most likely assist with these advantages. But inevitably, as we age, there comes a time when we realize our gardens have become overwhelming. Come hear Lisa Colburn discuss how to make gardening easier, strategies for downsizing and modification, and how to create an exit strategy.

Lisa Colburn is a Master Gardener in Penobscot County, Maine and Sarasota County, Florida. She currently writes for Maine Grows, a horticultural newsletter of the Garden Club Federation of Maine (GCFM). She’s the author of The Maine Garden Journal - Insider secrets from Maine people who love to put their hands in the dirt. Discounted copies will be available for purchase at the end of her program.

Cosponsored by the Castine Garden Club.
